Warrior of the Week
Congratulations to our awesome Warriors of the Week! Karla Ramos-Suarez, Esmeralda Navarro, Melissa Ornelas, Presley Ihezue, Ricky Flamenco, Isabel Navarro, Monet Chin and Diego Lopez! We are proud to have you Warriors!
Staff of the Month
Congratulations to the Staff of the Month for April! Our first staff we'd like to highlight is Daphnee Valdez, of the After School Program and Education Academy! This is Daphnee's 2nd year working at YV, and she is a proud alum as well! She graduated from San Francisco State University and just got into grad school there as well! (Congrats Daphnee!) She is a big fan of Anchorman, and the show "Dude, You're Screwed" on the Discovery Channel, and her favorite thing about being a Warrior is our acceptance for everyone and our strong sense of community.
Dance 3 Auditions
Calling all dancers!! Are you interested in performing for the rallies next year? Want to learn new styles of dance in a fast paced advanced setting? Want to have guest master teachers from different genres and get some great experience? And do you want to find your creative voice with the opportunity to choreograph for showcases? Then DANCE 3 is for you!! Auditions are Thursday May 1st after school in the Multi Use Room. Come ready to move and promptly after school.
Come one, Come all (students and their families--dad, mom) to YV on Saturday, April 26 for a special all-day facelift event of landscape improvements on YV's campus. Here is one opportunity we have to showcase Ygnacio Valley High as the AWESOMEST high school in the district.
This day is the kickoff of four landscape improvement phases to follow. This first phase will address the frontage area between the newly completed science wings to the end of the tennis courts. We'll pull weeds, prepare designated areas and spread mulch/bark.
An all-volunteer, all-day event, we start at 8 am. Come for as long as you can with your shovels, rakes, hoes, wheelbarrow, weeder tools, work gloves, knee pads and sun screen. Don't worry if you have no tools; there will be extras available. Be sure to put your name on all the tools you bring.
There will be plenty of snacks and water for all workers. Student workers will be credited for community service hours for their labor.
