GOLDEN WARRIOR NOMINATIONS

It's Time to Nominate Outstanding Seniors for GOLDEN WARRIOR

 

Open to all Ygnacio Valley High School Community Members

 

The Golden Warrior award is the most prestigious award we honor our seniors with, in the areas of Citizenship, Leadership, Scholarship (based on GPA), and the Overall Golden Warrior award. 

 

Simply click HERE and submit your nominations with evidence as to why you chose them. 

 

Nominees will be announced at the Fall WOW Assembly November 21st.

Fall Concert

This Thursday night, come to YV's Fall Concert! There will be performances by Concert Choir, Madrigals, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Band, plus desserts for sale. Admission is free; the concert begins at 7:30 in the MU. Come support live music at YVHS!

Picture Make Up Day

There is a picture makeup day on Thursday, October 23. If you have not taken your pictures a pass will be sent for you to report to Room 510. You can also purchase a package at that time. Pick up an order form in the office today.

Breaking Down the Walls Club

Were you a part of Breaking Down the Walls? Do you want to be a part of a school wide campaign? Come to our First Breaking Down the Walls Club Meeting on Monday, October 27 at lunch in the Spiegatorium. We will talk about BDTW and how we can keep student connections going all year! Don’t miss it!

Yearbook

Senior Portrait Retakes are Monday, October 20-Thursday, October 23. After you receive your portraits in the mail, you must choose your senior portrait you want to submit to the Yearbook by November 20. Last day to submit baby pictures is October 31. We will begin accepting senior quotes on November 1.

Free and Reduced Lunch

Thursday October 23 at 12:00 during 4th period the Navy will be presenting in the college and Career Center. They will be discussing Navy Scholarships and paying for college. Pick up a pass from Mrs. Santos

Tuesday, November 4, The Marines will be in the college and Career Center presenting on the NROTC PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP opportunity 4th period. Following the presentation, the Marines will be in the quad at lunch with the pull-up bar. Bring your muscles and get a pass from Mrs. Santos

Attention Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors! Cabin counselors are needed at Exploring New Horizons Outdoor School for the weeks of:

November 18-21 with Bancroft and Valle Verde

College Fair


The District College Fair is on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:00pm. It is at Ygnacio Valley! There will be over 100 colleges and technical schools represented! This is an amazing opportunity for all students to learn more about post-secondary education! Ask your teachers if they are offering extra credit.

 

Attention Bay Point Residents!! FREE BUS SERVICE will be provided the night of the YV College fair from Bay Point. The bus will pick up students at Riverview Middle School at 6:00 p.m. and leave YVHS at 8:00 p.m. Please take advantage of this wonderful offer to visit the College Fair at YVHS!!!


Remember: Warriors, every Wednesday is College Shirt Day. All Staff and Students please wear a college shirt on Wednesdays!!!

Mr. Lyon is in his second year at YV, having received his degree from Willamette University. Here are some quick stats about this awesome addition to the Warrior Family- 

 

  • What he would be doing if not teaching- Wrestling Professionally- his secret finishing move? The LYON tamer... 
  • What he likes most about being a Warrior- Sharing his days with students who make him thankful that he gets to be a teacher.

  • Favorite weekend activity- going out to dinner with his wife
