Mr. Lyon is in his second year at YV, having received his degree from Willamette University. Here are some quick stats about this awesome addition to the Warrior Family- 

 

  • What he would be doing if not teaching- Wrestling Professionally- his secret finishing move? The LYON tamer... 
  • What he likes most about being a Warrior- Sharing his days with students who make him thankful that he gets to be a teacher. 
  • Proudest most recent Achievement- Will be a new dad soon! 
  • Favorite weekend activity- going out to dinner with his wife
  • Favorite movie- too many 80's movies to list
  • Favorite childhood award or accomplishment- He was the football captain in high school

Raising for Relief

Do you want to make a difference in the community? Are you interested in earning community service hours? Come to our Raising for Relief meeting Wednesday at lunch in 208. We are going to talk about We Scare Hunger and other great opportunities to make a difference!

Halloween Spirit Day

Friday is Halloween! Dress up and earn points for Spirit Day! Please remember no masks or weapons allowed on campus. Costumes must follow school dress code. Get spooky with us on Halloween!

We Scare Hunger!

Did you know that 1 in 6 Americans struggle with Hunger? Help us make a difference! We will be collecting non-perishable food and canned goods at the Varsity Game on Thursday night. Bring a donation and get a raffle ticket to win prizes!

We will also be collecting canned goods on campus, and on Halloween night.  Bring non-perishable goods and drop them in Room 602 or 208.

Free and Reduced Lunch

Make sure you turn in your applications for Free and Reduced lunch to the cafeteria or apply online at http://www.mdusd.org/departments/food_serv  You can qualify for free and reduced meals, fee waivers for placement tests and much more! Get your applications in today!

Career and College


Tuesday, November 4, The Marines will be in the college and Career Center presenting on the NROTC PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP opportunity 4th period. Following the presentation, the Marines will be in the quad at lunch with the pull-up bar. Bring your muscles and get a pass from Mrs. Santos

Friday, Halloween, is the LAST day to make at least a $20 payment to secure a price of $100 for grad night 2015. Conor Boal's mom will be in the quad at lunch on Friday to take your payment!! Don’t miss out on the lowest price you can get! Grad Nite is a night for making memories!
