Fall Concert

This Thursday night, come to YV's Fall Concert! There will be performances by Concert Choir, Madrigals, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Band, plus desserts for sale. Admission is free; the concert begins at 7:30 in the MU. Come support live music at YVHS!

Picture Make Up Day

There is a picture makeup day on Thursday, October 23. If you have not taken your pictures a pass will be sent for you to report to Room 510. You can also purchase a package at that time.

Improv

Do you like to perform? Are you the class clown? Always making people laugh? Come check out Improv! We meet every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the Speigatorium. Come hang out with us!

Yearbook

Senior Portrait Retakes are Monday, October 20-Thursday, October 23. After you receive your portraits in the mail, you must choose your senior portrait you want to submit to the Yearbook by November 20. Last day to submit baby pictures is October 31. We will begin accepting senior quotes on November 1.

Free and Reduced Lunch

College Fair


The District College Fair is on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:00pm. It is at Ygnacio Valley! There will be over 100 colleges and technical schools represented! This is an amazing opportunity for all students to learn more about post-secondary education! Ask your teachers if they are offering extra credit.

 

Attention Bay Point Residents!! FREE BUS SERVICE will be provided the night of the YV College fair from Bay Point. The bus will pick up students at Riverview Middle School at 6:00 p.m. and leave YVHS at 8:00 p.m. Please take advantage of this wonderful offer to visit the College Fair at YVHS!!!


Remember: Warriors, every Wednesday is College Shirt Day. All Staff and Students please wear a college shirt on Wednesdays!!!

Homecoming:

  • Congratulations to our 2014 Homecoming King and Queen, Jose “Speedy” Barajas and Priscila Arredondo! What a great example of True Warriors!
  • A huge shoutout to our Football team for showing Heart out on the Field Friday night, win or lose, we are proud of you!
  • Congratulations to Cheer for organizing a successful Youth Cheer Clinic for our Homecoming Game! It was great to see all of the future Warriors out on the field cheering us on!
  • Thank you to Band and Choir for coming out and making it a Homecoming to remember! We are building traditions together! Did you notice Mr. Carter on the Accordion and Mr. Pattison on the purple trombone? Awesome!
  • Thank you to all of the amazing alumni that came out to support the team! We had Class of 2014 Patrick Valenica and Nargis Safi crown the King and Queen and Class of 2010 Joey Voelker and Brandon Bratcher announcing the game. We had a great representation of alumni out on the track for Choir performances as well. Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!
  • We can’t forget Sports Medicine for being on the field and ready to go at a moment’s notice. Thank you for keeping our teams safe and healthy!
  • A huge thanks to all of the students in Leadership for the great rally, halftime show, and throwing a great dance Saturday night! Your hard work and dedication really paid off!
  • Our Band and Colorguard did a great job representing us at the Santa Cruz Band Review! Congratulations to Colorguard, who placed 3rd!

Mr. Lyon is in his second year at YV, having received his degree from Willamette University. Here are some quick stats about this awesome addition to the Warrior Family- 

 

  • What he would be doing if not teaching- Wrestling Professionally- his secret finishing move? The LYON tamer... 
  • What he likes most about being a Warrior- Sharing his days with students who make him thankful that he gets to be a teacher. 
  • Proudest most recent Achievement- Will be a new dad soon! 
  • Favorite weekend activity- going out to dinner with his wife
  • Favorite movie- too many 80's movies to list
  • Favorite childhood award or accomplishment- He was the football captain in high school
